“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me…
[the Lord] will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did for me.’”
Matthew 25:35-36 NRSV
The Clothes Closet Ministry is operated under the guidance of the Church Leadership Committee of Fellowship Baptist Church. The Clothes Closet Ministry is an expression of the church’s concern for people in need. This ministry provides for the distribution of clothing donated by our Union County residents, striving to provide adequate clothing for families, those in transition from relocation or re-entry into the workforce, or any person with an identifiable need. It was established in 2012 and serves anyone who has a need.
Volunteers are needed to welcome and assist folks in clothing selection, and sort/hang donations. For information on volunteering, type of clothing needs, etc, please contact Lori Burke at church or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What Type of Clothing Donations are Accepted?
Clothing should be clean, stylish, and sorted by season (i.e. summer, winter). If possible, seasonal clothing should then be bagged and labeled either men, women, or children. Clothes on hangers are also accepted. Limited space allows for clothing donations only.
Where Can I Take Donations?
The Fellowship Baptist Church has a mobile home in back of the church parking lot. Clothing donations may be dropped off anytime Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by placing the clothing container on the porch of the mobile home, every second Saturday morning between the hours of 9:30 am and 12:00 pm, or before/after any one of our Sunday worship services.
